Asif sees no threat to democracy in Pakistan

Advisor to PM on Education Sardar Asif Ahmad Ali has said that there is no threat to democracy in Pakistan as the people of the country are committed to democracy and they will protect it. Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said the workers and leaders of PPP gave a lot of sacrifices for the independence of judiciary.
He said Chief Justice of Pakistan and Supreme Court will not deliver any judgment which may weaken the democratic institutions in the country. Reply to a question, he said era of judicial murders is over. Today, we are proud of our judiciary, he added.
He said the judiciary will deliver its verdict in accordance with law and constitution, which will strengthen democratic system. Answering another question, he appreciated the NFC award and termed it a great achievement of present government.
To a question about the US can play any role in resolution of Pak-India issues, he said, at present, India is neither in mood of talks with Pakistan nor the US will mount any pressure on it. Therefore, we should not remain in any delusion.
He said Pakistan and India should resume Composite Dialogue otherwise non-actors may create further tension between both the countries. He said Pakistan took every step to reduce tension and normalizes with India.
